Brigadier General Robert Gwyn Armfield

Gwyn Armfield grew up working in a family-owned cemetery before going to college and earning a commission as an Air Force officer. Throughout his 28-year active duty career, he was fortunate to participate in several key events following the 9/11 attacks as a Special Tactics Officer leading Combat Controllers and Pararescuemen on special operations around the globe to include the initial invasion of Afghanistan in 2001. Fourteen years later, he rose to serve as the Deputy Commanding General for all US and Coalition Special Operations Forces in Afghanistan.

Gwyn and Catherine

During the years in between, he commanded military operations on a number of combat deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and other locations around the world and served in a variety of senior leadership positions. After retiring from active duty, Gwyn founded a consulting company that works with corporate and non-profit organizations to develop leaders, manage risks, and create useful technologies. He serves on a variety of boards and is active in his local church.

Bruce Fister reigns from Cincinnati, Ohio, was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force for over 32 years, commanded multiple units, and has had leadership roles in global military operations and in Christian nonprofit organizations. Bruce was an Air Commando in Vietnam with more than 1,000 combat hours in the C-123. He has flow 18 different aircraft with 7,000 total flying hours. He held command positions during Operation Urgent Fury in Grenada in 1983 and operation Just Cause in Panama in 1989.

Bruce and Melissa

He has been in business, and perhaps most important, served as Executive Director of Officers’ Christian Fellowship for 10 years. Bruce has visited every continent in the world, and he and Melissa have lived in Europe and visited countries from Europe to the Pacific. His wife Melissa of over 57 years is a high school sweetheart who has supported him since he graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1964. The sparkle in their eyes is their two sons, their wives, and three grandchildren. Bruce and Melissa reside in Niceville, Florida. Bruce is the President of the Robert and Christine Steinmann Family Foundation and serves as a Coxswain in the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
